Hygiene Kits

The Hygiene Kit Ministry at All Saints Episcopal Church is a community-driven outreach effort focused on meeting one of the most basic but often overlooked human needs: access to personal care items.

This ministry gathers donated hygiene supplies, assembles them into ready-to-use kits, and distributes them throughout the wider community. Kits are shared with local crisis centers, The Salvation Army, homeless outreach efforts, children’s and school-based support organizations, and are also made available through the church’s Blessing Box for immediate access.

At its core, this ministry is about dignity. Access to hygiene is not a luxury—it is foundational to health, confidence, and stability. Each kit represents care made tangible, offering practical support in moments where resources may be limited or unavailable.

Donations are gathered from the community and assembled into hygiene kits that are distributed locally. Whenever possible, travel-size items are preferred for ease of distribution, though all contributions are welcome and appreciated.

Requested items include:

• Hair brushes and combs 
• Soap and washcloths 
• Shampoo and baby lotion 
• Toothbrushes and toothpaste 
• Dental floss and mouth care items (such as mints) 
• Lip balm 
• Hair ties 
• Tissues 
• Hand sanitizer 
• Feminine hygiene products (tampons and pads) 
• Additional basic personal care items are always welcomed as needs evolve 

Each donation, no matter the size, becomes part of a larger kit that is shared directly with individuals and families in need.

Once assembled, hygiene kits are distributed through trusted local partners and community channels, including:

• Crisis and emergency support centers 
• The Salvation Army 
• Homeless outreach programs 
• Children’s and school-based resource organizations 
• The Blessing Box at All Saints Episcopal Church 

This multi-channel approach ensures that kits reach people in different situations—whether through structured services or immediate, walk-up access.

There are several ways to participate in the Hygiene Kit Ministry:

Donate Supplies:
Items may be dropped off directly at All Saints Episcopal Church during regular hours.

Monetary Donations:
Financial contributions are also welcome and allow the ministry to purchase supplies in bulk as needed.
Please make checks payable to: “Deacon’s Discretionary Fund” and include “hygiene” in the memo line.

Small essentials often carry large weight. A toothbrush, clean socks, or basic hygiene supplies can impact health, confidence, and a person’s ability to move through their day with dignity.

This ministry exists to bridge that gap—quietly, consistently, and with care—ensuring that support is available not only in moments of crisis, but in the everyday reality of need.
